Brownies

I’ve tried a number of different brownie recipes, searching for the perfect one, and this is definitely it! These brownies are fudgy on the inside and chewy around the edges, which in my opinion makes for the perfect combination. They are delicious on their own, or topped with fresh strawberries and a spoonful of homemade whipped cream.

The recipe is as follows:

Brownies:

PREP TIME: 15 mins
BAKE TIME: 35 mins
TOTAL TIME: 50 mins
MAKES: 24 servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup (226g) butter, melted
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each, until thoroughly blended.

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl. Gradually stir flour mixture into the egg mixture until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Bake in preheated oven until an inserted toothpick comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Remove, and cool pan on wire rack before cutting.

Enjoy!
